Rainbow Bridge

We got Blue's ashes back from the vet. The certificate had the most saccharine poem on the back titled "Rainbow Bridge". Written by an 8 year old, or a barely literate crazy cat lady, it's all about meeting your long lost pets in heaven. I mean really and truly - we're talking Hallmark card quality crap. I burst right into tears after reading it. Oy vey.

We might have to hold off on finding a new sibling for Tama. The SPCA has no kittens because it isn't "the season". I wasn't aware there was a season for kittens, but it looks like we'll have to wait a few weeks or a month. I'm not as worried about Tama as I was even a day or two ago - he wouldn't leave our sides for the last few days but today he seemed much more normal.

That's amazing that there were NO kittens. What about slightly older cats? Like a year old? Our new guys are ~4 months. They woke us up at 1:30 am last night pouncing on our heads and biting our fingers. The good part was that we found the camera we've been missing since last March under our bed when we were trying to fish them out to evict them from the room!

Sas - that Rainbow Bridge poem makes my knees buckle from crying so hard. It's SO sappy, but it hits the exact "sentimental nerve" all pet lovers have. I actually had to ask a relatively non-sappy friend of mine NOT to quote it to me when Daisy died, because I knew it would make me blubber even more than I already was (he busts it out whenever a friend has a pet who dies!)...so you're not alone!

Also, Kate: I got Johnny and June when they were about 6 or 7 weeks old, and I think I told you this, but June actually took a bite of pizza OUT OF MY MOUTH the first night I had them home. They were CRAZY. Also, she used to fashion herself into a hat around my head when I'd sleep. That was actually awesome.
