We just arrived in Albuquerque and our hotel room completely rules! Jacuzzi tub, double sinks, two huge rooms and a full kitchen. Iain can do his yoga in one room while I watch CSI in the other! (Extended Stay Deluxes are a real crap shoot, though -- we've stayed in 3 or 4 so far and each one is completely different.)
I sat down in the living room area all psyched to post a bunch of stuff from our day in Texas, but the internet here is worse than dial-up. So, I won't be able to post anything with pictures until we get to Phoenix tomorrow.
We're finally seeing some really amazing scenery -- Texas was very cool. When we crossed the state line we both agreed that NOW it feels like we're seeing the country. The landscape in New Mexico is beautiful, and it's been fun driving along Route 66.
New Mexico has a state speed limit of 75 -- those of us still allowed to drive were very excited.
We can't figure out Tama's random acceptance of some hotel rooms over others -- he's either a true hotel snob OR the herbal Rescue Remedy we've been giving him has helped (thank you, Shelby, for that recommendation!)
Tonight we're driving into Old Town in Albuquerque for some supposedly authentic Mexican. I think it's safe to say we'll be having a few margaritas.
