We really lucked out with food this weekend. We had brunch at a nearby hotel/spa and enjoyed the best eggs benedict we've ever had -- the spinach alone was fantastic. The head chef used to be executive chef for Kauri Cliffs, a really swanky lodge. We went back to the same place the next night for their tasting menu. I've attached a picture of the surprisingly delish ostrich course.
Our town had two Italian places. The menu for LaScala's Authentic Italian featured a picture of Madonna from her Papa Don't Preach video. Underneath it read, "The area's only Italian chef."
Oblivious, Iain said, "I guess that's their chef." I was like, "Dude, that's MADONNA."
